Biography, Experience, Current
Projects and Fee Schedules
Lucy
Snyder has worked in the field of religious education and liturgy
for over twenty-five years. With this background and her experience
in textile art, she has completed original liturgical tapestries
and paraments for churches in New York, Florida, Louisiana and Maryland,
among others. She believes that creating art for liturgical celebration
or meditation is her vehicle to share the Good News. Her experience
as a liturgical professional and artist provide the necessary expertise
to collaborate with church communities, from the initial consultation
through education, design process, fabrication, and installation.
Lucy believes there are three major priorities in any project. The
first is to connect with the community and to listen to their needs,
goals, and history. The second is to work for creative consensus
in the project. And, thirdly, she strives to incorporate any and
all traditional elements of the community in her designs.
Very often in working with a parish, Lucy will consult on the art
and environment as it relates to a pre-building or renovation process.
She has presented numerous workshops on developing and training
the parish art and environment team, and has also worked as liturgy
coordinator for dedications of new worship spaces.
