Biography, Experience, Current Projects and Fee Schedules
Lucy Snyder specializes in custom-designed textiles used as seasonal wall hangings and/or permanent installations in worship spaces throughout the United States. Her twenty-five years' experience as a liturgical professional and artist provide the expertise necessary to collaborate with church communities. This includes initial consultation, education, design process, fabrication, and installation

.In addition, Lucy has been highly successful in mentoring congregational artists in the creation and fabrication of their own projects. Her catechetical background and knowledge of Christian symbolism are the basis of her unique approach to the design process.

Lucy believes there are three major priorities in any project. The first is to connect with the community and to listen to their needs, goals, and history. The second is to work for creative consensus in the project. And, thirdly, she strives to incorporate any and all traditional elements of the community in her designs.

"I want the community to be able to find themselves, and the Lord, in their worship spaces, and make that mysterious, but profound, connection we call faith. If my work helps them to make that special connection to God, then I am using the talents He graced me with, and I am joyful."

Lucy has completed wall hangings for churches in New York, Florida, and Maryland, among others, and offers complimentary initial consultation. Her fee schedule is based on the size and complexity of the project; payment terms are negotiable.
