Biography, Experience, Current Projects and Fee Schedules
I have been classically trained with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Sculpture, and continued on to a Master's program in Sculpture. I majored in Greek and Italian Renaissance, and worked with professional Italian artist studios over so many years. I studied the masters: Michelangelo, Bernini, DaVinci, Rembrandt, Rubens, Carpeaux and Rodin, specializing in Italian Renaissance. I received a diploma of higher studies in drawing and sculpting from the Academy of Michelangelo.

My experience of creating masterpieces for liturgical environments, art for churches and places of worship, has given me the ability to do unique, one-of-a-kind, and traditional figures in all mediums: clay, wood, bronze, marble and stone, stained glass, carving in bas-relief & 3-D, as well as oil and mural paintings. I have been commissioned to do bust, torso, life-sized and monumental figures in all mediums.

My style of painting and sculpture is spiritually inspired for liturgy, spiritual needs, and the beliefs of the community. My strength is also the ability to work with Church members to know the vision of the parish, the community, and the designers. My desire is to create beautiful, Holy Art masterpieces that speak to each soul. My work nurtures the spirit and the sentiment of the human being and has sensitivity and refinement depicting the Human condition, both visually and emotionally. The most beautiful pieces that I've done are sacred art that speaks of total love and sacrifice. The Word of God is written and spoken and is felt deeply through inspired art that we can see, feel, and adore.

My inspiration comes from being closely mentioned by Monk and a close devotion to Jesus. I feel the hand of God leading me and I believe that God's will is to share His love through my artwork. My desire is to reflect the mirror of God's love that I receive from the Holy Spirit through prayer to form my Sacred Arts. In all my work I strive to give the sculpture a life beyond it's immediate form. My sculpting is an act of love, for my love of Jesus. Naji S. Matta-Artist
