Biography, Experience, Current Projects and Fee Schedules
Come to the feast! I believe that all liturgical art should be an invitation to join in the heavenly banquet, to enter into a deeper relationship with God, and to help us see the face of Christ wherever we look. For me, that invitation is most compelling issued through the color, texture, and movement of fiber, the most intimate of the liturgical arts.

Developing this philosophy led me to apply my skills as an award-winning quilter and quilt shop partner to my first liturgical fiber arts project in 1987. More recently I wrote the book Raise the Banners High! (published by LTP) with Josephine Niemann, SSND, to spread the philosophy and techniques of banner making to a new generation of liturgical artists. I continue to be inspired in new directions.

My work includes processional banners, wall hangings, funeral palls, stoles, and vestments and is in the collections of numerous churches, including Fairfield University, Most Holy Trinity Church in San Jose, CA, St. Francis Xavier Church at St. Louis University, the Christian Reformed Church in Ann Arbor Michigan, and the Newman Center at the University of Massachusetts, as well as the collections of private individuals. Many can be seen on my website.

Currently, I am working on a line of banners, called "Celebrate!", which can be used in procession, planted in stands, or hung on the wall. These banners express unity and multiculturalism through their use of fabrics from all over the world, many of which are painted, printed, or dyed by hand. They are available in all liturgical colors, plus custom colors in 5' ($195 each, $350 pair) and 8' ($350 each, $650 pair) lengths. Coordinating stoles are available ($195). Custom sizes and coordinating paraments can be ordered. A chasuble should be available soon.
