Biography, Experience, Current
Projects and Fee Schedules
Josephine
Niemann, SSND, designs furnishings for places of worship that evoke
a prayerful response in participants. She believes each piece needs
to express a reverence and dignity appropriate to its sacramental
use. Key to this goal are unity of design and harmony with the surrounding
environment, especially the architectural elements.
Josephine does
not execute her designs, but works closely with Ed Stroeher of Classical
Services in Washington, MO, a woodworker whose custom furniture
is of exceptional quality. Other elements (marble, bronze, etc.)
can be worked into the designs.
Her liturgical
furnishings have been published in Environment & Art Letter
and in Ministry & Liturgy (Vol.15, #4).
